The Reverend Terry R. Pannell, rector of the Church of St. Mary of the Harbor, celebrated Holy Eucharist with us for the first time on Sunday, December 17, 2006. A joyful group of friends and parishioners celebrated his installation as Rector by the Rt. Reverend Roy Cederholm, Suffragan Bishop of Massachusetts on February 19th, 2007.

Terry was unanimously and enthusiastically recommended by the Search Committee and endorsed unanimously by the Vestry. A Mississippi native, he holds a Master of Theology from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Divinity from the School of Theology at the University of the South. Prior to his call to St Mary's, Terry served in parishes in the Diocese of New York and the Diocese of Western Louisiana.

Search for New Rector

In October of 2004, the Vestry appointed a Self-Study Committee. This was first step in a search for a new rector. Their work was completed early in 2006 with the publication of the Parish Profile. During this process there was community reflection on where we have come from, who we are now and our dreams for the future that are included in the profile. The Parish Profile is the introductory toll of discernment for applicants for the position of full time rector. Your can view, print or download the Parish Profile by clicking on the button below. The Vestry has appointed a Search Committee. Their work is complete with their recommendation to the vestry of a candidate. Rev. Pannell was unanimously and enthusiastically recommended by the Search Committee which has toiled for the past year receiving names, analyzing applications, and interviewing finalists. The entire parish owes Search Committee members Dana Faris, Peg Williams, Alec Marshall, Lynne Martin, Debra Quinn, Carolyn Smith and Scott Turton a tremendous debt of gratitude for their commitment, dedication, and hard work.
